The 5 Types of Employees You Must Let Go Immediately

The 5 Types of Employees You Must Let Go Immediately
(If You Want Your Business to Grow and Survive)
The Hardest Truth Every Entrepreneur Must Accept:
Not everyone you hire is meant to stay.
And not everyone who stays is helping your business grow.
For 35 years of mentoring MSMEs and corporate teams, I’ve seen one pattern:
👉 The wrong employee can destroy your business faster than competition ever will.
Kung ayaw mong ma-stuck ang negosyo mo…
Kung ayaw mong ma-burnout araw-araw…
Kung gusto mong lumago talaga…
Then you MUST learn to let go of the wrong people.
❗ 1. The “Pwede Na Yan” Employee
This is the employee that kills excellence.
Signs:
- Laging minamadali ang trabaho
- Walang pride sa output
- “Okay na ‘yan” mentality
- Hindi nagre-research, hindi nagle-level up
- Ayaw sa feedback
This person lowers the entire company standard.
❗ 2. The Chronic Latecomer
Hindi ito about minutes.
Ito tungkol sa attitude.
The person who is ALWAYS late is sending one message:
“Hindi importante sa’kin ang trabaho na ‘to.”
If they can’t respect time, they won’t respect your business.
❗ 3. The Gossip Maker
Ito ang employee na araw-araw may chismis, reklamo, intrigang pinapakalat.
Sila yung lumilikha ng:
- Division
- Tension
- Ingay
- Negativity
- Distrust
- Drama sa workplace
Destroyer ng culture.
Killer ng productivity.
Master ng “Pero si ano kasi…”
❗ 4. The Victim Employee
This is the staff who NEVER takes accountability.
Lines they love saying:
- “Di ko kasalanan…”
- “Hindi ko alam…”
- “Siya kasi…”
- “Wala kasing nag-guide sa akin…”
Every mistake is someone else’s fault.
Every failure is someone else’s responsibility.
Victims slow down the entire team.
❗ 5. The Employee Who Stays Only for the Salary
Ito yung pinaka-dangerous.
Why?
Because they don’t care about:
- Growth
- Company goals
- Standards
- Innovation
- Customer experience
- Excellence
Wala silang ambag — presence lang.
A body on the payroll is not equal to value on the business.
⭐ Bonus: The Employee You Should KEEP
Para balanse…
The employee you must KEEP is the one who:
✔ Takes ownership
✔ Shows initiative
✔ Tries to improve
✔ Respects your rules
✔ Supports the team
✔ Has integrity
✔ Wants to grow
✔ Shows loyalty through actions, not words
This one is worth training.
Worth investing in.
Worth keeping.
👉 What I, as a Business Mentor with 35 Years Experience, Would Think and Recommend
For 35 years, I’ve seen hundreds of businesses grow — and fail — because of staff decisions.
Here’s the truth:
****You cannot build a strong business with weak performers.********You cannot build a great brand with average people.****And you cannot lead a winning team if you are scared to let go of the wrong ones.
My recommendation:
✔ Hire slow.
✔ Train well.
✔ Fire fast (when needed).
✔ Keep those who show growth and integrity.
✔ Build systems so people know exactly what “excellent” means.
Your team is either lifting your business up…
or pulling it down.
Choose wisely.
